Machine
Solutions Inc. (MSI) provides catheter & stent
testing services on a contact basis.
Tests are performed using our core segmental
compression mechanism integrated into
the proprietary MSI equipment. Tests
are designed to quantitatively analyze
performance features and can include:
track, push, torque, flexibility and
hoop force measurement. A full testing
report and raw data are provided in a
csv file for further analysis within
your organization.
Standard Testing Protocols available:
• Track force (0 - 1000 grams).
Measures the force needed to advance a catheter, interventional device or guidewire through a torturous path.
• Push efficiency (0 – 1000 grams).
Uses the proximal and distal load cell to measure the amount of force the distal tip of the product sees when a known force is being applied to the product on the proximal end.
• Insertion force measurement.
Measures the force used to advance through the introducer sheath.
• Guidewire movement.
Measures the force needed to advance a guidewire though catheter, guide catheter or other interventional device.
• Flexibility.
Measure of a catheter tips ability to track over a specified bend in a guidewire, such as 90 degrees.
• Guidewire and catheter lubricity track measurement.
Comparative test using the Track test data to determine if coatings have an affect on the force required to advance product through a tortuous path.
Custom Testing Available:
Torque test module.
• Incremental torque/force readings at different degrees of rotation (2.5 – 3.5 in-oz).
• Continuous torque/force readings as product rotates (0.5 – 5.0 in-oz).
• Measure of rotations to failure (revolutions at 25 rpm)
