MSI continues to expand the range of capabilities of our proprietary segmental compression technology and believe this equipment will become the industry standard for measuring and monitoring radial stiffness and radial reactive force of stents and stent graft technologies. This equipment offers quantification features that are superior compared to products currently available.
The MSI stent testing contract services provide testing with the proprietary RX550/650 Radial Expansion Force Gage equipment. MSI contract stent testing involves three steps.
• Development of Protocol:
Expansion and Compression Force Testing: This test is performed to measure the force exerted by the stent as it expands and the force required to compress the device once it is expanded. The protocol is developed in conjunction with the customer engineering team.
• Testing:
Expansion and Compression Force Testing: The testing will utilize the RX550/650 Radial Expansion Force Gage equipment. Using the RX550/650 software interface, the RX550/650 will measure the hoop force of the devices during expansion and compression. The data will be recorded as the product is completely expanded and compressed via micro-stepping linear actuator.
• Report Generation:
A final report detailing: test protocols, methods, apparatus used, calibrations, results and statistical analysis (if relevant) will be provided upon completion of testing. All materials provided to MSI will be returned.
