The
FFS equipment has three main working modules – the machine base, the pleat head, and the fold head
– that provide varying levels of automation
and process controls depending on the model.
Angioplasty
or stent delivery balloons are first processed in the
pleat head, which evenly divides the balloon
into equal sized lobes and gives the pleats a unique,
curved shape using our proprietary Wavepleat™ Technology
mechanism. The fold head then compresses the balloon
radially to efficiently wrap the pleats against the
catheter shaft providing some of the tightest balloon
profiles obtainable today.
