The Series 900 equipment has three main working
components – the proprietary segmental compression
mechanism (crimp head), the quill or loading system,
and the catheter handling tray – that provide
varying levels of automation, load cell feedback
and process controls depending on the model.
Self
expanding products like nitinol stents, collagen
plugs or filter products are first loaded into
the segmental compression mechanism (crimp head)
by the operator, the catheter is then loaded into
the handling system and advanced to meeting the
crimp head, the crimp head uniformly compresses
the product, the quill system is advanced and
loads the product into the lumen.. Depending on
the model, some or all of these processes are
automated.
Advantages
of the MSI Series 900 equipment includes:
•
Substantially reduced process cycle times.
• Uniform, repeatable, compression.
• Improved yields.
• Optimized crimp profiles.
• Ease of use.
